Nice day trip to "The Big Smoke"

Now in London at The Strand Palace Hotel, which is right in the middle of The Strand, opposite the Savoy Theatre and just behind us is the Covent Garden.

Thought I was coming down with Air France, however they have joined forces with KLM and Scot Air so it was a wee propeller Convair that brought me down. It was only half full so there was lots of room to spread out. Thanks to Sparky mark who drove me to the airport, battling bravely through the torrential rain - fortunately not as bad as the typhoon which has hit Taiwan and now heading for Shanghai - poor souls, what terrible devastation
Seem to have lost the picture of the London Flood barrage protection , , no I do not think the sunbed mattresses would be much good - but might be worth a try.
The Pepper pot is the new air traffic control tower at Edinburgh , taken from a different perspective. Managed to get the London Eye and the Dome from two different angles.
London City airport is not as bad to land in as I thought it would be, but the pilot certainly had to stamp on the brakes !!! Nice little airport, straight out onto the Docklands Light Railway, but as usual, best laid plans, etc. there were lots of workings on the underground so I had to go round the houses, via the "Bank" , Tottenham Court Road; and eventually arrived at Charring Cross. It was just a short walk along the road to the Hotel, lovely sunny afternoon.
Hotel is pretty big, and busy , and they have some funny prices in the bar - £4.80p for a bottle of Magners, £7.50 for a double whisky (Bells), etc. so it looks like being a dry night , otherwise Tesco Express is due for a wee visit !!!

Still no word from Edu, but I can live in hope.
