Bad guys, inefficiency and dumplings

Two big drugs busts in the last few days in the area, one in the City with a courier being arrested at Haymarket Station with £169,000 worth of drugs, but better still was the one at Howgate by Penicuik, two days ago when a vehicle was stopped and £900,000 worth of drugs recovered.
Doubtless they were only being paid to carry the stuff and the brains / money men will be annoyed and just have to get another mug to do their work, and up the price to compensate for the losses.

Great excitement as work is about to recommence on the fantastic futuristic tram project in Edinburgh, but first, the contractors claim that repairs will have to be made to the so far unused tracks as they are deteriorating badly, probably because of the number of pedal cycles using Princes Street. The Edinburgh Council are now suggesting that the track will now run from Gogar to Princes Street only - so far only £400 million (REALLY WELL SPENT - NOT). So the traders will once again start counting the cost in lost revenue as disruptive chaos commences.

Nice surprise today when my old mate, Michael, from Darling, an acquaintance from 1964 onwards stopped off at The Dolphin Inn, Whitecraig, to have lunch with me, en route to be an observer at this weekends cycle road race taking place at Pitlochry. When I stayed at his house all those years ago his mother had convinced the neighbours I was her missing son and older brother of Michael !! His Dad, Jim, is sadly about to celebrate his 90th birthday but is seriously affected by the horrendous Altzeimers Disease and no longer knows any of his family or friends.

I am astounded at the problems "Deer" must be causing on the motorways around here, for the last few trips along the M8 the overhead gantries have been warning of the dangers which might be caused by Deer on the motorway !!! There are bigger problems with drivers using mobile phones and texting when driving as we witnessed on several occasions today en route to Glasgow. I am sure the controllers must have a better imagination. However I was getting even more hotter under the collar with drivers coming down the wrong lanes and then trying to cut in , took me two hours for what was normally an hour trip. So four hours later I arrived back in Edinburgh and dropped into The Mercat Bar which was jam packed, nice to see - stayed for a while and then headed home.

Need to be on tip top form for Saturday as I have a bowling match organised by the Provincial RA at Dalkeith, lot at stake, big trophy perhaps ???????????????/
