Visitors ,and MEP's

P.M. and feeling a lot brighter, having had a bit of a siesta - anyway, yesterday I had visitors in the afternoon, Graig Gordon, RWM of Lodge 720 Dalhousie Bonnyrigg dropped by with some flowers for Mrs B and a card for me. The card was covered in signatures from well wishers who had been at Craig's reinstallation last week. Members from the following lodges all signed it - 1062; 1201; 1038;720; 226;1373; 428; 429; 856; 10; 112; 580; 1029; 5722 EC; 8634 EC and 500 RA. - very good.

At the same time Berti Baaa , secretary of RA 500 and his wife Jane arrived from Dewarton to see me. Bert was in contact with me every day while I was in hospital, however we had had regular contact for months since he underwent surgery. The interesting thing to crop up was when we discovered that Jane had taught many years ago at Howgate Primary School, with a head teacher called Atholle Cameron. I am not sure if I was working in Penicuik at the time or in Community Services, Dalkeith, but I remember visiting the wee school regularly to do projects with the class. At x-mas she used to call us up to play Santa Claus for the kids and then we would have lunch with them - the good old days.

Irish Christine has just been on the phone, fair away with the photos of Curley Carly's wedding now that she has eventually found the blog site - so to the folks at Wheatfield Walk, happy days.

Thought I was finished with the trams for the day, however, nice article in the Evening news about the overpaid members of TIE who are resigning from their posts, bloody shamed out of them. But not to be outdone we have Mr McKay former buses boss, earning £90k for three part time jobs, who is looking to take on a TIE job at £55k for two and a half days a week !!! I am sure there must be something I could do at those rates for a few hours a week and do it as well as they have been doing - twiddling thumbs, looking out windows, business lunches, etc.
Oh, and they have remembered to apply for planning permission for the new fancy canopy to be erected at the tram terminal at the airport - - nothing about the tram project makes sense any more.

So we have a Nigerian working for Asda, commits a £20,000 fraud so he can send money back to his family, found guilty, 200 hours community service - should have had a one way ticket put in his hand. This is not the land of milk and honey as far as British citizens are concerned, might be if you hold a foreign passport, do not speak English, and have the support of the money grabbing self righteous sanctimonious bureaucrats in Brussels supported by the equally greedy MEP's and aided by our own M.P's who do not have the gumption to stand up and be counted.
