We are back over at the cafe Neptuno, to see our ladies again and sort this blog out - they really are very pleasant and make us feel welcome.
This morning we took the local bur along to Funchal and then had a thrilling ride up the mountain in the cable car. It takes just about twenty minutes each we with some breathtaking views over the City which is a lot bigger than we had expected. the cable car runs right over the tops of houses so you have birds eye view of the occupants, talk about being in a gold fish bowl - It must be awful at the weend or evening to be sitting there with all the gondolas passing overhead.
the Botanic gardens are superp, set into a cliff top at the top of a valley - then you have the choice of the cable car back again or on a toboggan steered by two men - It cost 25 Euros to go down and you only go half way , so as we had our return tickets we took the ariel trip. a couple from the hotel took the taboggan and said it a bit hairy for the first few bends then it calmed down - but i would hate to meet a motor on the hairpin bends.
Wandered artound the City centre, markets, etc, before taking the bus back to the Hotel Fawlty Towers)

Anyway, now just cooling down , 9.30 p.m.
Not sure how I managed to get MIri's photo in here, but I am sure that Grant and Yvonne will appreciate seeing their baby again.
Time to finish my cuppa.
