Between flowers, followers and flying machines

It has been a couple of busy days at the Dolphin Inn. As the weeks tick in since we took over slow progress has been made to make improvements and start to tidy up. Our much appreciated volunteer gardeners have been on site along with their little helpers and have been setting out bedding plants in the many planters, clearing out the flower beds and doing a marvellous job.

Today was "helicopter Sunday" the decider for the premier league, which was eventually won by Glasgow Rangers. Despite advice not to do so we had both games on the TV at the same time, but apart from one rather exuberant and noisy Rangers fan there was just the normal good humoured banter between the fans, it was just a pity that the result was more or less a forgone conclusion before the kick off - and a pity that Rangers had to win away from home so only a nominal number of fans were able to see the initial presentation - but well done Rangers- commiserations to Celtic.

Our celebrating fan in the sheet was attempting to replicate an incident three years ago when Celtic won the league and his friend put up a banner on the nearby roundabout, but he appears to have done a better job at dressing up as Casper the Ghost !!!

The smart young 50 yr old, seen posing here is Andrew Couper, driver of the Westmuir Racing sidecar combination who is off to the Isle of Man TT racing this week. I hope to get some shots of the combination this week before the team head off but they have promised to bring the machine down to the Dolphin Inn after the T T is finished.
