Golden Oldies Rugby - Penicuik - 2011

A long and at times chilly day at Penicuik Rugby Club today where the club were hosting a Golden Oldies Rugby day - so provided you were over thirty five years of age you could play, and as you will see there was on veteran aged eighty four !!

The valiant Penicuik team actually had a very successful day despite the distractions on the touch line - in the forms of the organisers.

Considering the fact that everyone had to play four games, there was only one injury, who, after a trip to the hospital made it back to the clubhouse on crutches.

We had one team who were sponsoring a cancer charity as all the players had suffered from some form of cancer - they did very well.

It was good to see so many spectators attending, many former players from all over who were very supportive.

I look forward to next years repeat event.
