Hollwoood; Palm Springs, the desert and dashed hot

Up and off at 7.45 for the start of a 450 mile drive east through the desert to Palm Springs and onto Scottsdale at Phoeonix, Arizona. Hot, hot , hot, only 106 and it is now 6 p.m. tomorrow is due to be about 110 F but as we head for the Grand Canyon it will be cooler.

In Palm Springs we were stopped by a TV reporter for the local TV Station who were asking us about British actions on Friday 13th.
WE saw an unusual sight , a mini tornado a wind devil - a small spout of sand being sucked up
into the air, most unusual for Arizona. We also passed one of the US's working nuclear power stations, out in the middle of nowhere.
Photos are of the Stars sidewalk in Hollywood Boulevard, the famous Roosevelt Hotel, Hollywood, and just to prove that there are places where everything needs to be locked up - these toilet rolls were in the ladies loo on the Interstate No 10 rest area facilities. It was 107F outside in the desert - not for sunbathing !!
We have 48 on the bus and will start rotating seats tomorrow to meet everyone, our guide is very good giving us loads of information en route.

I have written a lot more in the diary, but as I said before, cannot get it to copy and paste !!
