ROUTE 66 Sliman

Sunday 15th
Awake again in the middle of the night, but managed to lie in till about 5.30 a.m. when fired up the lap top and Skyped Sir Chris at The Mercat.
The Drury’s Hotel had a complimentary breakfast on offer which was perfect, lovely scrambed egg, toast, waffles, fruit, coffee’s etc, ideal.
All organised, cases out and we were on the bus and away at 9 a.m. heading west / north on Interstate 41 again. The third time on one part of the road !!!
First stop of the day was in Sligman , Arizona, on the original Route 66, a small town which literally died as a result of the new Highway, however, with a bit of publicity and ingenuity they are now doing very well from the tourist trade, especially Europeans who stop off to look at the old cars, barber shop, etc, again , a fun place to stop, but very interesting. Lots of other pictures for later.
