Sitting watching the Real Madrid v Barcelona football match, and if this had taken place in Glasgow there would have been a number under lock and key by now !! The antics on the pitch are unbelievable - it is time they had "Oscars" for footballers, good result for BARCELONA - 2 -0. Which reminds me that Rangers V Celtic ended up a 0 - o draw on Sunday which probably prevented a great deal of trouble in the City.
Getting all set for the Royal Wedding - Kate and Wills, and as we are going to be in the London area we already know that there will be a few parties taking place near to where we will be staying. I was getting a bit hot under the collar tonight listening to the anti Royalists getting their say on the TV - If that lot and the immigrants get their way it will not be long before we have no Royal family and no Christianity in this Country, and add the Human Rights Bill, there will be guilty men in prison.
Flying to London with a real airline, no hidden extras from the quoted fare, board to allocated seats, and go to the loo without paying !!! I see Ryanair were taken to task over an advert suggesting you could fly to the sun for £8 - but you needed a fur coat and not a bikini to lie on the beach. BUT we are going to see "The Wizard of Oz" at the London Palladium on Sunday which should be a good day out. We did fancy going for a cuppa at Claridges afterwards but we would have had a long wait as the earliest booking we could get was 13th August !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, just make do with a Vino Tinto instead at the nearest hostelry.
However, Monday I managed a shift at The Mercat Bar which was good, we had quite a few tourists in for breakfast, enjoying the weather and the fine sights around the City - some a bit bemused by the "tram lines" in Princes Street which just do not match up to existing tram systems in Dublin, Manchester and Prague - never mind if it goes no further there will be plenty trams to see in the tram museum being built at Gogar.
Tuesday, nice weather again, spent the morning between meetings doing paperwork in the sun in the garden which was very pleasant - had a run to town and spied Fergus of McEwans Coaches in his new bus, (not brand new) but bigger than his last one, just have to wait and see if it can get through the snow next winter, or maybe next month.
Had a wee run out to Rosewell and met Grant of Photogenix briefly before he headed off to St Andrews for another job, that was while waiting for a MOT for the car.
Made it to Laird o'Cockpen R A 500 at Bonnyrigg last night for the Provincial Visit, a good degree and our Tam did really well as 1st Soj, well done, BUT big treat for the day was the mince and tatties that Dougie's family put on for the supper.
This morning, up with the larks, but they needed fur coats on as it was freezing with a hard ground frost, the garden suffered and a number of shrubs were badly damaged with the hard frost. Here we do work on the saying "don't cast a cloot till May is out", same applies to the garden, no bedding plants in till June. Never the less, as the sun came up we had a lovely day, managed to get the grass cut and even gave the "steed of steel" a wash and polish.
Long day, been as busy as I could be under the circumstances so hopefully will get a long lie a.m.
