Seasons with little sun

What a wonderful country we live in, four seasons in a year, or in reality it is normally four seasons in a day, sometimes two or three times a day - This week we have had sunshine on Monday when I was up Hillend ski slope with my visitors from the USA, Hillend, a fantastic resource for the community and while we were there it was very busy with many young people taking courses during their school holidays. The chair lift was working and we had a lift to the top of the hill which was ever so better than walking !!! and the views were fantastic, although I have been up there on better days when we could see as far as Ben Lomond some fifty plus miles away.

BUT - our weather being what it is, we have now had twice the average monthly rainfall in ten days - or is it twenty four hours. Today I was down at the Dolphin Inn where some of the regulars were hoping that they might be stuck in pub due to the roads being closed by flooding, which makes a change from the snow at Christmas. Good try guys, but as you can see there were many who braved the water - and the bus drivers did not give a tootie - they just charged through at high speed - "nae bother pal" .
