Farewell Papa

Really sad news today, Chris Reid had to go to hospital where his Grandfather was seriously ill, and as the day progressed his condition worsened till at 4.40 p.m. he passed away peacefully in his sleep, aged 99 years. He was a real gentleman who will be sadly missed by all. R I P. Oswald Nimmo, or Papa as he was known by the family, was a carpenter by trade and successfully had his own business in Galashiels where he settled. He was an accomplished pianist and was a church organist for many a year. Papa eventually moved in to the Reid family home in the 1985 and lived a very fit and active life... lifting 3x2 paving slabs in his early nineties at home in Fairmilehead! A shining example to us all.
