The French wine tasting night.

Just ever so delicate this morning - and with it being a bit miserable (drizzly) outside I am taking the chance to do some paperwork before heading down to the Surgery to see my Doctor - just routine - no Swine Flu, etc.

It turned out to be another late night last night after a brilliant wine tasting - and with a difference.

There was a small group present, as many of the regulars appear to have forgotten the date or were tied up elsewhere - however - it was fantastic. The new faces were "gobsmacked", thinking that they were going to be standing at the bar, sipping wines and spitting them into a bucket, as per the stereotype tasting . But no - we were all seated, had nine good wines, some being very very good. Three whites to start with , a Rose, then three reds and finished off with two Reserve wines - one white and the other red.
Our chefs , last night being the turn of Andy and Lauren, produced food to go with the wines, so the menu was:-

Lobster bisque
*************
Mussels in white wine sauce
************************
Saucisson on chutney
********************
Cold meat platter
******************
Selection of French cheeses, grapes, etc.
*********************************

Just tremendous.
A really good evening was had by all, and so at around 12 mn, most had headed home to bed, probably to end up feeling a bit like me this morning.
The bar was busy most of the evening and we actually had a group of four who left at 1.10 a.m. on our closing.
