Long long thursday

Had a bit of a long day !! made it to the Mercat for 6 a.m. and got on with some painting before Sam the joiner arrived.

Made headway with the work, popped down to Scott Cappolas and B & Q for bits and pieces, sam the Joiner is good but really messy, needs a cleaner to follow him about. Phonde was faulty, which did not help, but at least the drain was running free again.

Along the street, the newsagents had been broken into for the second night running, yesterday they broke the window, got cut and apparantly Police caught two culp[rtits who stle nowt - but last night place was done again , ADT had not come to reset the alarm panel so in they came , emptid the safe, out the back door, took our ladders and a baton to get over a wall and hedge and off via Palmerston Place. In the good old days we used to say , statistics for a normal break in were 25 / 1 , but once broken into were reduced to 6 / 1 , point taken !!!

Tramworks folks have been battering on with the job in Manor Place, but we got a letter saying that Palmerson Place was being shut off and our working were going to take another six weeks or so !!! bloody disgrace. So we will have a new set of Diversions to confuse even more folks.

RGB on his way from Sydney to Shanghai now, for a stopover before coming home.

We are like two old crocks in the house, me with sore back and legs, and Mrs B. with a badly poisoned knee which is giving her gyp!! very sore to walk on, so the sooner the poison gets out the better.

Grant called to say he had been abused by a Chinaman who had stuck needles in him and given him a sever cupping - he had so many bruises his physio would not touch him !!

Massive rugby weekend, Heiniken Cup finals, we will be decked out, extra fonts, and beer flowing in all directions.

In the meantime - we are coping with the funerals of Andy, the Chef's mother up in Aberdeen on Thursday, and Papa's funeral on Friday. Fortunately, everyone is helping out and doing their best to ease the pain, thanks.

early start for another long day.
