A few words on the days events before I head off for my weekly exercise on the bowling green - provided I can stay awake long enough !!
Andy the Chef in not really worried about the swine flu, nor was he about to perform some ritual on Jamie, but was in the midst of a deep clean of one of the ovens when I spotted him.
But it was another early start again with sam the Joiner in to do work on the bar, while I pottered with a paint brush and waited tom help him. having reported a problem with the drains the men from Scottish Water arrived in their big tanker, and despite what I have said about the tram people, they managed to clear a big enough area and get the barriers open to let the tanker in. Looks like the main drain under the road was blocked and the very determined, doggard water men , stuck to the task and eventually got things moving again - not just full marks for them 150% for effort, thanks very much.
Returnbing to the relative peace of the bar, where our corner area has disappeared to be recovered I stopped for a chat with one of the customers, a lady whohas an office further along the street. She was fully demented with the tramworks especially as they have started to fill up andf tar over the road outside her office - and about time to.
No papers for the cutomers as someone tried to break into the paper shop, cut themselves in the attempt, and did not get through the door - but as they were waiting for the Police to come and do their CSI thing - the shop was kept closed.
Chris was in with his sister Jill, and we learned that the funeral of Pap will be at 1.15 p.m. on Friday at Warriston.
Need to go meantime.
