Happy birtday carol

Bright sunny morning which i saw early on , then dozed off again to have a long lie.
Once up just a bit of time wasting before we headed into town to the Burgh Hotel at Causwayside, into Alfresco's Restaurant where we were meeting Mrs.B.'s pal Carol, friends and her family for Carol's 60th birthday bash. There was a good crowd there and we had a lovely meal only thing that I found odd was that they served salsa with the cheese board - even the waiter agreed that more and more chef's were using spices at times inappropriately.
We met up with several folks we had not seen for ages, and even managed to get snippets of gossip, i.e., an old friend, Ron @ Ronnie, from our days in Eskhill has just got back to work after seriously damaging his arm in a fall during a trip to Canada. Ron used to play the guitar, but is hampered by his injury - he used to go to Canada regularly where he and his brother, keen Kinks fans attended several of their concerts in Toronto.
Left for home but en route came across a gathering of Lotus Fans with their sports cars, the white one is raced all over the UK. Owners were very keen, and their pal, a superb Subaru mechanic said he was forever getting roped in to help them , but he did not mind - that's the thing about enthusiasts .
On motor sports, Jenson Button was declared the winner of the Malaysian Grand Prix after it was stopped during a horrendous rain storm - big question was, why was the race not run in the morning which is less prone to thunder and lightening - Lewis Hamilton was also doing well and making his way through the field before it was stopped, and the rain really was stotting down , bouncing, with lightening striking the stadium.
Young Andy Murray, back in action today in the final of the Miami Open tennis, hope he manages to get a grip on this one and bag a trophy.
Jade Goody was laid to rest yesterday with a massive response from the public , obviously it was a shame that she died so young, but I am not so sure that I agreed with all the media circus etc orchestrated by Max Clifford and his team - and I just hope no one put in the coffin camera as was threatened!!!
Manchester United beaten 2 - 1 by Aston Villa, I know one man called Dave from Kent who will be pleased.
So I am not sure if it is feet up time or if we are off to Moffat tonight where RGB's friend is opening a new restaurant - he has not appeared to give us our instruction.

Currently watching a programme with Joanna Lumley about her search for the Northern lights in Lapland above the Arctic Circle, she has been talking ta a man who "Yoiks", sounds loike us with a good drink in us.
And the Alta Igloo Hotel, carved out of ice and snow., which is built every year but melts in April.
I know two young farmers from East Lothian who made the journey on motorcycles to the northmost point , and said it was a fantastic experience - probably a bit like reading this blog !!!
