A day and a half - or Five K's BUPA style

Might as well start with an "ooh " picture, before I go off on a nippy - the wee westie was sitting good as gold outside our Tesco store - so I was somewhat distracted from doing my usual rummage for the Tesco daily diddles.
At home the athletic RGB was recovering from his canter round Arthur's Seat on the BUPA winter run - it is a good job the real athletes did not know he was was competing !!!
So - what else - I made it to the BNI TGI meeting at 6.30 a.m. yesterday morning, lovely breakfast, and followed by a very lively meeting with about thirty four members present .
Homewards, then off to work at The Dolphin Inn - good lunch with some nice clients. Home again and another quick change before heading north to Pitlochry - roads were not too bad as I missed the main peak rush hour, however it still took nearly two hours to get there. There are now major roadworks on the M90 and from Newbridge, all part of the works leading up to the construction of the new Forth crossing ( the third forth crossing!!! - so work that out).
the A9 from Perth to Pitlochry is a bit of a nightmare, with only three sections of dual carriageway to allow queues to disperse, the sooner they get this road dualled the better.
Coming home after the meeting was much better as the road was quiet, however, the several miles from North of Dunfermline to Newbridge were a nightmare - travelling at 40 mph under average speed cameras.
On the A702, on the hairpin bends just past Easter Howgate Farm, hazzard light in the lay by and yet another car in the adjacent field, upside down, lights on - but two police cars arrived while I was there and took command of the situation. Over the years I attended many accidents on this short stretch of road , but have never known there to be so many in such a few days - really odd ones with cars up and over both sides of the embankments into the fields. This one nearly smacked a field pump which would have caused a bit of a stouchie at SAC.
As I arrived at home, 11.45 p.m. three of the local Penicuik boy racers were out in their weenie cars playing super silly b******. total disregard to the Road Traffic Regs., bloody lunatics - sooner they lose their licenses the better - all one if they had been racing along the A702 and ended up at the scene of the earlier accident , they would have raced into a blocked road.
So- to bed perchance to sleep, perchance to dream - no chance!!! usual bad night, and up as usual- headed off and ended up at Dobbies (Tesco's) at Eskbank - which I have to say is a superb centre/complex which I enjoy visiting, however, it is so bloody expensive it is not true !! So, me being a frugal gent - go and look, however I cannot stop Mrs. B. from buying.
Later ended up in Edinburgh - what a nightmare, and this is only Saturday - the first day of the new Diversions being put in place for the next Phase of the wonderful Edinburgh Tram Works - (aka - money not well spent) which is causing havoc - Lord help the Monday morning commuters trying to get from the East End and along George Street. Shandwick Place is also closed so we have to see what ensues during the coming weeks - and how many more businesses go down the tubes !!
Presently sitting watching the new series of Casualty on the TV (as compensation for not winning this weeks lottery) - very, very traumatic - (and me with a bad heart - not) - exciting, well written, and good entertainment.
