Linlithgow Place and St Michael's Parish Church

Trying to keep up to date with where I have been,
but before the dinner on Thurday I took a look up to the site of Linlithgow Palace, built circa 1100 a.d. as an old old manour house, and now sitting just as it was left by the Duke of Cumberland in 1746
Home of Mary Queen of Scots, born there 8th December 1542.

Pictures of the entrance, east and west walls, etc., as it sits on the side of the picturesque Linlithgow Loch.

St Michael's Church was built in 1138 and has withstood the ravages of the years.
The new tower, which can be seen for miles and is mistakenly taken as part of the Palace, was added in 1964.
