Theatre Land, London

Biggest problem here in The Strand is that you are spoiled for choice with all these theatres within walking distance. I have only shown a few of them, "Legally Blonde" across the road,
"Oliver" about 500 yards away, "God Collar" and "Love Never Dies", out the door, turn right and walk 200 yards, "The Lion King" , turn left and walk 200 yards, and "Les Miserables" , again only about three hundred yards. Add to this countless bars, pubs and restaurants you are really spoiled for choice.
Tonight is was still snowing when I went off on my wanderings, but there were still queues at most of the venues, and I saw a number of coaches arriving at a couple of the theatres. BUT - the bars were quiet, a similar sight seen throughout the country on a Monday night, especially at this time of the year.
I am looking forward to breakfast tomorrow to see if there is any improvement on the culinary delights on offer. This morning the bacon would have made a cobbler weep, the soles of my shoes have more life in them !!! That is the worst thing about these heat lamps , they dry out everything, but the chefs should by now be well aware of this.
My other observation of the morning was that all the single guests were lined up like wallflowers at the dancing, backs to he wall , seated in a row, munching away and not a word spoken - but then , I suppose this is the nature of business folks out in the City. Might be different in the morning as the hotel appears to be full to capacity and we are being warned of congestion in the dining room, just think what the food will be like at 9 a.m. if it was verging on being incinerated at 7.30 a.m. !!!!
