I was very sorry to hear tonight that my former Boss, Grace Charlton @ Gow had died within the Marie Curie Hospice following a long fight against cancer. The funeral will take place in Mortonhall Crematorium on Monday 12th at 2 p.m.
I wrote about Grace a few weeks ago with tales of when I first met her way back in 1966 as a WPC at Dalkeith in the former Lothian and Peebles Constabulary. She was later my Inspector for some time- a staunch believer in the Police Federation and a federation Rep for many years. She was a good boss to those who worked hard but hard on those who did not pull their weight.
Our thougths are with Ian and the family, R I P Grace.
