Chilly morning - however

Early rise after a few restless hours in the old scratcher - Mrs B very restless last night . But after 41 months of this ongoing c**p from the City of Edinburgh Council who can blame her, it is taking its toll on all of us.

Yesterday , left early to head up to Perth but although the weather was generallly bad it was clear over the two Forth Bridges with excellent views out to sea, over Hound Point ,( the oil terminal) etc., and with an oil rig in for repair off the Fife coast further east and lit up like a christmas tree.

Drove round Perth for a while just to get my bearings and be nosy before parking up and playing with the computer on someone's wireless link.
The Lodge , No 3 Brig O Doon , in the entrance hall is a marble cast of Charles Spence , "The Carse Poet" who was a member and lived from 1799 to 1889, and who wrote some very nice poems . In their small museum was this model of a foreign gent in full regalia. The main temple is beautiful with some marvellous paintings around the walls mainly masonic , but also one of King Alexander overseeing the building of Scone Palace. circa 1200. Later the King's Alexander the 2nd and 3rd were crowned there. the palace was also home of the Stone of Destiny. Afterwards I was even taken down into the crypt , one of only five in Scotland, used for the RA meetings.
The OSM Degree was very good, with five candidates, one being my friend Kenny from Pitlochry, going through . It was well worked - good crowd present, it also being the Provincial visit.
Enjoyed the night , probably more than I will enjoy the rest of today .

Off now to get ready to head south - no doubt Jill will be waiting with a big smile for me at The Heath.
