Sister Act on tour - a birthday treat

Off to town on Mr McEwan's anything but luxury coach - a great bus service, but anything not comfortable. We were even held up by so called emergency road works on the A702 just a short distance south of Hillend junction, but as usual the problem was so important that there were no sign of any workmen, just a queue at one stage which was three quarters of a mile long and taking fifteen minutes to get through. How do these utilities get away with causing such mayhem?
Off the bus at the West End so for a change we popped into the Caledonian Hilton for breakfast, which was lovely, we will certainly be back -it was nice to see the smiling Danny Fair on the door in his full regalia.
BUT we were heading for the Playhouse Theatre at York Place to see the musical "Sister Act", on tour and only in Edinburgh for a couple of weeks. Well, for me who is not really a theatre fan, it was absolutely marvellous, took a wee while to get into the story, but the music and performance was excellent - a lot of work to convert it from a movie to a stage play but well worth going to see.
