Certainly a birthday to remember for RGB, here at the Hilton Waterfalls, Sharm El Sheikh - could not have asked for better. Unknown to RGB we had arranged for a dinner on the beach - normally reserved for romantic couples, however tonight it was for six.
During the day he had been out scuba diving on an offshore reef, came back , had a snooze and then we all dressed for dinner - however - with a difference. We had taken the costumes we bought on our Nile Cruise two years ago and did it in style. Caused a bit of a still in the diuning room and bars as we had our pre dinner drinks, and then we made for the Sea Shore dining room before being escorted to our table which was set out, surrounded by candles on the beach.
Our waiter / butler got us all sorted, wines, drinks and then served the meal - what a feast !!! It really was superb, far, far too much to eat , first class presentation and excellent food - all prepared in the nearby, or main dining room and brought down to us. Salads, calamari, French onion soup; steaks and luscious chocolate cake. The real surprise for RGB was when the waiting staff, chefs and restaurant managers came down with a magnificently decorated birthday cake, covered in candles which slowly began to melt the intricate decoration. The staff all sang "Happy Birthday, etc"
It was a truly marvellous and memorable evening - no ifs or buts about it.
