Donna Murray

Sadly, I have to say that our friend Donna Murray died on Friday , aged 43 years, as a result of cancer.

I have known Donna and her husband Andy for a number of years and can only convey our sympathies to the family.

Donna had been unwell for some time, before doctors realised that she was suffering from incurable cancer, and despite giving her a few months to survive, she passed away quietly after only a matter of weeks.

Donna, a nurse, was quite a character, a strong personality who loved her family very much and will greatly missed by Andy who has managed to cope under very serious pressure. They have three children who will need all the support they can get.

Thinking back a number of years, we had Donna and Andy at the barracks for a Sunday, "fun day", and everyone took part in an obstacle course, which ended up with all the unfit participants hobbling around Penicuik for days afterwards.

Andy worked at Edinburgh Crystal glass before being made redundant on its closeure.

The funeral is on saturday next at the Sacred Heart Church, Penicuik, at 10 a.m.
