Old habits Die hard

Happy 60th to my brother in law, John Johnson, today - I am sure he does not look a year / decade older !!

Terrible tragedy in Madrid with the plane crash last night - our thought go to the families and friends of the poor souls who have lost their lives.

Back to the old ways again - wide awake at 4.30 a.m. so no point in lying staring at the ceiling - not when there is beach volly ball on the Olympics !!! So China did well in the event also - we keep asking where they get the athletes from , but with such a vast population , there is no reason why . Diving now on and like all the events these folks are brilliant.

Managed to sit and do some of my own work last night , but still have a couple of days worth of paper to get sorted , but that will need to wait for a bit longer, phoned a few folks while the Scotland - Ireland game was on which was not that clever with a 0 - 0 draw, and apart from a good save by the Scottish goalie on an Irish penalty kick not much to write about.

Off to The Mercat Bar shortly to get the place up and running , but staying in town this afternoon to attend the retiral doo in the Police Club, York Place, of Ian Stevens. Ian @ "Shaky" used to work with me many years ago - but is now calling "time", had enough.
Wedding Anniversay on Friday so I had better remember that card, other friends, Jean and Barry, in Haswell, Co Durham, have their "Ruby"anniversay on Sunday - well done.
