The Mercat bar ( alterations now finished meantime) officially took on its role as Venue 282 for this years Edinburgh Festival Free Fringe. This year there are six comedy shows a day from mid afternoon onwards. Absolute Beginners 10.20 p.m. - 11.50 p.m. with seven comediens.
I sat in this afternoon and watched "Two Birds, a Gay & an Fat Dude" ( photo of fat Dude a.k.a. James Marsh) a team of four young artistes ( Tasha K; Gearoid Farrelly and Niamh Marron) from Dublin who were very funny - bit blue at times but good. Last nights late show was busy so we will see how the week progresses.
In the meantime I had been kept amused in the kitchen with this morning's resident comediens ( chefs) @ Jamie and Edu, who were slagging each other off all the time between meals.
