Headed off to Tranent, collecting Andy KP en route and had a wee skate around the Granada car park due to black ice. Sat and waited and waited at Tranent but with no sign of life I dropped andy off and headed up to Bonntyrigg and went to a 720 Committeee meeting . Transpires that there was no meeting at Tranent because there will be a Burns Supper there on Saturday instead.
News on the TV is quite depressing, yet another toddler brutally assaulted by her parents; the murder of the young lad down south who tried to foil the armed robbery at his father's post office; the missing Madelaine McCann - who we all hope is still alive.
In Edinburgh we have a young wife who appears to have been brutally murdered and cut up by her husband, her head found in a plastic bag , the event having taken place some two years ago and she was not even reported missing by anyone.
Not to ignore the tragedy in Gaza and Palestine with the ongoing conflict between Palestine and Israel - just where will it all end.
Just listening to the media - it strikes me that they have a great deal to answer for, they jump onto anything and everything without any consideration for the end results, Their coverage of this so called credit crunch has probably done more damage than good, folks are scared sh--less. if they want to do any good have a go at the greedy buggers who have made a mint out of this, because you can bet your bottom dollar someone has. And this costant harping on at The Royals - over what " sooty" and "paki" - what planet are they living on - PC gone made. And to cap it all Tony Blair gets a medal from George Bush - press will have a heyday tomorrow.
