An evening for Freemasons

There is not much point is talking about the early part of the day, Costco ; Bookers ; a wee look at the Tramworks , where if these guys had been employed to dig the Panama Canal, it still would not be open - even the navies who dug the Crinan Canal did a better job, and without all these modern mechanical shovels, etc.
So tonight I headed off to Dalkeith for a meeting of Esk 42 RA, and sadly not a big attendance due to illness - mainly the "man flu". But what was more disappointing was the non arrival of the expected Deputation from Port Glasgow, due to domestic problems.
The meeting and Degree working was excellent, with the Esk officers being assisted by some of the visitors - but I am sure tat the Candidate still enjoyed the whole night.
The surprise of the night was when MEZ John Wright called his two regular visitors, Malcolm Turner, Past Grand Supt of Renfrew and Duncan Gemmel, Past Depute Grand Sup of Renfrewshire to the floor and awarded them with Honorary membership. Both were really surprised at this great honour, and I am sure that they , like us were also disappointed at the non appearance of their Port Glasgow companions.
Our Provincial Supt elect, Alex Mooney was present so he was able to congratulate the latest Hon Members to his Province.
I was able to do a bit advertising to l;et the Companions know about our visiting lecturers to 500 on the 27th Jan - so hopefully I will get a good attendance.
So that was me today - briefly
