Not the best day out

Rainy day,

had a quick run down to see Grant at Bonnyrigg, his wee dug is recovering from its surgery to straighten its little legs, now it needs som TLC, physio and a few swimming lessons. Vet did a good job and hopefully it will recover and have a life.

The man from John Lewis, very pleasant chap, came to see us, nice chat !!! not sure what will happen next.

Headed down to Peebles for a wander - not quite the best day, streets were quiet as were the shops and we ended up in one which (when a house) was frequented by John Buchan, the author of "The 39 Steps" when he was a boy. Made the mistake of going into The Tatler Cafe which was not the best of experiences, no atmosphere, not a word of conversation from the waiter who stood and read his paper, although to be fair the place was clean and tidy. Food was Ok but the frozen peas and carrots were just a bit "a dente". So that place is now on my list of "places not to go".

Home, sat with feet up and watched the cookery programme , some of these chefs are brilliant, I wonder how they would rate my cheese and pickle toasted rolls !! however, time waits for no man so it was up and off to Corstorphine for the RA meeting. This was as part of a Provincial deputation with a dozen from from Provincial there. So as they say "with a little help from our friends" the meeting and degree working for two candidates took place.

Manged to get a good "Burns" man, George Wilkie to volunteer to do a bit for me after my next meeting on the 27th when I have my two guest lecturers from Crieff followed by some traditional Robert Burns,

Obviously at home now, busy day tomorrow.
