Bit of a slow start, but when it did we were all run off our feet, extended the breakfast service till 1p.m. which suited some of the 80,000
visitors who had packed into Princes Street last night for the party in the gardens and the final fireworks show. Biggest problem had been the extreme cold and snow bound streets, so fewer than usual came into the City - bit of a pity.

When things did quieten down I headed home, but stopped and took some photos, first was of the canal in the City where several weeks ago I took photos of the canoeists; next was of the sledgers on Lothianburn Golf Club, below Hillend Ski Slope; then the south side of the Pentlands just above the Flotterstone Inn.
While taking the last photos I was passed by one of the big snow ploughs, struggling with a full load of salt and spreading the A702 - followed by a long convoy of cars not able to get by.
