Births, Deaths and marriages

Birthday boy, Ian, in trhe middle was in the pub this morning when he announced that he was 80 years young, so we wich him another 80 years.

His friends, Rob and danny were keen to get him drunk to see what his family would say when he turned up a special party in Loanhead tonight. We hope he has a lovely time.

Jim the builder made it safely back after a long weekend in Paris with his wife which was a present from the family for his wedding anniverary.

So far he has denied misbehaving, but he did have a romantic cruise on the Seine, but had to take the wife as he could not escape. He went up the Eiffel Tower, but only as far as the 2nd stage and could not be bothered waiting on the lift. There is no truth in the story that he was shouting over the edge " What have you French done for us!!!" Told us that the French set fire to the Arc de Triumph each night as they cannot get the fire to burn all the time - his fact for the day was that the motorists are not insured if they drive round the Place as with ten lanes it is the most dangerous in France. Popped into the Louvre to see the Pyramid which features in the Da Vinci Code story. Was walking with a limp which he claims is gout but we think he is wearing french knickers which are too tight.

Kerrin arrived to take over and told me that her uncle had died suddenly at home this morning - and had been found by relatives, our condolances.

Still no word from down under of the safe arrival of Rob and Caitlin - so we are in a waiting mode.

Not sure whast janet has beeen doing but Brian says she was trying to get into Bloggere to add a comment but failed to do so. ( ask Glen).

Going for a nap as I am heading off late tonight for a pick up and then down to Runcorn for breakfast - hopefully the snow which we had last niight will stay away.
