Another (unfriendly) bird in my life

This fine looking swan was about to have a go at me yesterday at Musselburgh so I beat a hasty retreat.
Mrs B. has been much brighter as the day progressed which is good.
So much for a quiet day, I ended up back at Costco, then picked up Danny Graham so that we could have a blether, so he went to Bookers with me and we stocked up the kitchen at the Mercat for Claire and Graham - At least I know that there are beans and things available if I do not want the haggis tomorrow night - unlikely. We did well, but we commented on the escalating price of farm produce, butter, cheese, etc.
Wee bit steam coming out my ears on getting stuck in traffic at the ever increasing number of roadworks around the area.
Danny has inside information on the tram project and he reckons that the people who were working out the schedules have got it seriously wrong - they did not know that Shandwick place was one of the main routes into the city!! and from what I hear about the proposed alterations to bus routes, use of side streets, etc. it will be nothing short of a total nightmare for months.
managed to get the new battery fitted to the Escort, so that should resolve the problems there, the old one was fitted in 1996, so it has done pretty well considering. While doing it, the massive flock of birds which roost at night in the high hedges nearby were whirling about and I was hit on several occasions by their droppings - all the cars in the back lane get plastered every night.
