Foggy wet day

Early start this morning, 5 a.m. on the M8, nd it was raining and miserable, which was the general picture for the whole day.
Met with Fraser, got my tea cup filled and headed south, stopping at Carlisle. Car was sounding a bit strange but it still made the trip , however, will need to get it checked out.

It rained most of the way south with poor visibilty which made for slower driving times / speeds, but that did not deter quite a few who were certainly doing in excess of 80 m.p.h. in very , very poor visiibility. Due to being slower I had no hold ups so it makes a difference being able to maintain a constant speed.

At Runcorn, thought that the baillifs had been in at Jill's front Reception, which was stripped bare obviously prior to a big redecoration. Poor Jill was full of the cold, but she was going to prepare herself a good hot toddy, with lemon, honey and whisky!! to combat the bug.

Managed to get my bacon roll set aside in the cafe, but Canteen Christine warmed it in the toastie machine and crushed it flat. still a nice snack.

As I was till not feeling 100% and knowing that there were going to be massive delays on the M74 near Lesmahagow I had opted not to take anything home and cut off via Moffat on the A701, which was a good run except for a couple of tourist types who were wanting to admire the scenery. Anyway made it home in one piece but was much in need of a sleep.

Ann was up , dressed and pottering about, feeling a bit better, and even managed to make the dinner while I snoozed- which is a hopefully a good sign.
Had an E mail from a from an old friend who used to work in Brussels and who is now based in Singapore, so if I ever want a night out !!
