Anti Social Behaviour - and theft = to be serious

Shocking news on the TV tonight re the elderly man, Mr Agnew who died as a result of continual harassment by local yobs. The issue of Anti Social behaviour is now a major problem, one which has been increasing for many years - and which will not go away until there is a radical change in the attitude by the police, the public and the legislators. The actions of the radical minority, the doo gooders, the European Bill of Human Rights, have all contributed to his near total breakdown of law and order.
There was a lot to be said for the days when a "bobby" walked the beat looking like a policeman with a white shirt, shiny shoes and a pressed uniform -not a para military look a like ; when Police , policed by consent - which meant that officers and the public worked and knew each other, to the extent that Police lived where they worked and therefore had an interest in the community. Me I had to ask permission to get married and was not allowed to buy my own home without consent.
I, as a youth had my ears boxed on several occasions by the local Police in Currie, and as a young officer gained respect within a mining community by taking on the local yobs in "square goes" - nowadays, I would have landed in jail for doing likewise.

BUT on a happier note, RGB was awarded with his certificates by the Best of Britain people following the campaign by his clients to highlight the good food, service, etc at The Mercat Bar.

I have been doing a "Twitter" (StuartBlaikie) for a few days now, and having problems trying to link it to both The Mercat bar and my blog - very complicated for a non techie person like me.

Hate to say it but my toes curl when I see Mr Darling our Chancellor on the TV - just cannot cope with the man - he and Mr Brown, are probably bigger rougues than the three MP's who appear to be scapegoats for the wholesale abuse of the expenses system operated to the apparant benefit of our MP's in Parliament
