Mr Myres now on site

Peace shattered, Joe Myres has arrived in Penicuik, Briggsy carted off home by Ma and Pa Briggs suffering from the after effects of a long flight and a long day "on the pop".
They came with British Airways via Heathrow, at least they got here, unlike those poor souls whose holidays, weddings, etc have been ruined by the impending strike by BA cabin staff - as far as I am concerned I would not criticise anyone for not flying BA in the future due to the unpredictable behaviour by the staff. For what was one of the World's leading airline, it is now a total loss making operation, lacking credibility, and with a government who cannot even run the country efficiently, there is no point in baling out yet another loss making operation because their Union are so militant. Looks like Ryan Air or Easy Jet might well be the flag carriers of the future. Go Jo and RGB have already changed their flights to the USA later this month.

Earlier this week I commented about the numbers of Central European beggars lined up along Princes's Street, now we have a formal complaint about the charity "muggers" on the same route who are making the public "run the gauntlet" during their shopping trips in the city, I was always under the impression that Camelot, when they got the Lottery franchise were going to help all the little charities. HOWEVER we now know that the Government are hijacking the funds to help support their own so called community projects, ie the Olympics.

Trying to get sorted for my installation into the chair of the Soutra Isle chapter of the OSM tomorrow, and now it looks like I am going to be heading for the bright lights of Edinburgh, the seething rugby crowds, and the intense expectation of a brilliant win for Scotland in the Calcutta Cup
