BMI might be punctual - but not the BAA

We were up bright and early this morning to another fine day in London , and a bit quieter than last night when all the planes from Heathrow seemed to be coming over the house at treet top level - the Controllers at Heathrow seem to change the flight paths so that everyone in the area gets equally disturbed and annoyed.
So we left the back of 9 a.m. and had a gentle run round the M4 to Heathrow T1 where William dropped us off. Already checked in so it was a quick drop off of the bags and then through departures where we again had our picture taken. They have changed the departure [procedures so now everyone in T1 goes through the same security checks and gates - and you walk back round to the old Gate 8 area for internal Domestic flights.
We were boarded bang on time with the doors closed, something our pilot was proud to announce - the fact that BMI are now recognised as being the most punctual airline - HOWEVER - we then had to sit in a queue waiting to take off so that took another 40 minutes - with the end result that we spent more time in the plane on the ground in London than in the air between London and Edinburgh. From the photos, (back in business) we have the main London Control tower, some clouds (taken by me) but Mrs. B. took lots so perhaps you may get a treat later ( it was a bit like tourists taking pictures of sheep), and she did get a nice one of Cramond Village as we approached Edinburgh Turnhouse. The landing was a bit bumpy as there were strong gusty winds on the way in.
Once off we managed to get a spray or thhree at the smelly counter in the airport ( perfumes that is) to keep her ladyship smiling, and then it was bags, bus to the car park, and home to get the washing done.
With a windy but dry day here we managed to get our jobs done before the rains came - so much for our summmer - anyway , we have enjoyed our few days away and can only have a look at what else might be available.
