Sat Part 2. Mr and Mrs Jones

After the K.T's had finished we three, that is Mark, Grant and myself stayed for a glass of wine, pint , etc., although Mark had decided he was to be the driver so he had to be good. Anyway , we then decided to pop up to Bonnyrigg, Lodge Dalhousie No. 720, where we knew the bar was open on a Saturday afternoon.

On arrival we found that there was a wedding party in , and learned that this was the 1st Civil Wedding to be held in the Lodge since it had been granted the licence to do so. I popped through and met the bride and groom, Brian and Tracy Jones who said they were having a great time and thought the Lodge was an excellent venue. Many congratulations to the happy couple.

During the past few weeks it has been decorated from top to bottom compliments of Stuart Purves and his employees and is looking brilliant.

The service had been carried out by Ms. Milliken one of the local Registrars who had been very good. I also met Aunt Charlotte( Cairns) , who had done one of the readings, had a wee blether and found out that her husband had been a member of 606 and an affiliate of 720. She was in the Eastern Star but had not been for years so she was introduced to some of the members who had prepared the wedding dinner and were still in the hall.

I should say that the lounge bar was busy with the RWM, Alex Mcbeth doing his stint behind the bar and his family and friends keeping him busy !!! Last weeks Beatles Tribute night was a great success, and they have already booked and sold out ( in one evening) all the tickets for an ABBA tribute band next month.

Grant had to leave so we also headed off towards Penicuik.
