Morning - well the lap top is still ill - suffering from the internal / infernal virus, but when Tam went to got it sorted it would not boot up . From the depths of his own system he discovered that is a common fault with this model as a number of others have suffered the same and like me are onto their third hard drives, etc. Trying the XP restore this morning but I cannot speak MDOS I got stuck again. BUT time and persistence will pay off - otherwise it is into the big grey bucket.
Tam in the meantime has suffered from a rare problem with his computer, when it conked out he found that his rabbit had tried to eat through the power supply !! Not such a daft rabbit as it chewed through the low voltage side.
Back to real life - I see that Mark is still in Peru - and should be due back this weekend. I have had a nice comment from another reader "Projectores" on Blogspot, but hope I am excused for not going into that site , just in case. - meantime that is.
I popped in the to see Shezad and Ritin yesterday at Corstorphine as they have some work for me next week - they were in fine fettle winding up one of the tutors.
Handed in £25 donation to Dr barnardo's charity which the folks at the Sportsmans had kindly put in their collection box - well done.
At Musselburgh , they have identified the eejit, - sh--bag who tried to throw the sign through the pub window early hours of yesterday morning- he was an occasional customer in the pub but it looks like he was an associate of the torags dwelling along the street - who apparently have a hearing coming up at the licensing board soon - that should be fun. Yet another Punch tavern has shut down in Prestonpans as the lessees ran out of money.
I hear that Mr. George F. was being his usual nuisance yesterday - probably rained off, had a good drink and began to be the bully boy as his usual requests were turned down.
There was a serious stabbing outside the Catholic church in Newbigging just up from the Sportsmans, middle of the day on Monday afternoon - but two men have been arrested who were in JT's taxi at some stage, the victim is recovering in hospital.
Spent the afternoon filling in cracks in the wall with Polyfilla, and only have another square mile or so to do !!! (in the house) , and as i finish one wall Mrs B. strips the paper off another wall - which is just like the Forth Railway Bridge.
Eventually escaped and made it to Tranent last night for a RA meeting - only 23 present, no workings but the had a wee blether , and some nice egg pieces later.
Off to B & Q soon to get a new sander - and use my Diamond Card for the 10% discount !!
The old joke is What is 100 yards long and smells of urine ? - The queue for the checkout at B & Q on Diamond day!!.
