RA Strathearn No 34

Not got long this morning as I am off to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary , for next weeks appointment , which has been brought forward. Starving at the moment as I was told to fast - see if I get inthere and it was not needed I will perhaps have a nibble at a nurse !!

Thursday was a busy day , popped down to The Bush to see the ever industrious Arlene and Alan (but he was missing). Off round th street, but tried three different post offices and could not get near them.

Then headed off to Crieff for a meeting with the Strathearn RA No. 34. Arrived early so found out where the lodge was, then went for a coffee and into the sweetie shop for a bag of boilings.

Was in the Lodge as soon as the doors opened and found it was like the proverbial "Tardus", looked nothing from the outside but was quite big on the inside. The place is steeped in history, the lodge , St Michael's No 38 having been formed on 27th December 1737 when the Duke of Perth was installed into the chair as RWM. The actual chair that was used is still in the building and I have a photo to go on later. The Duke of Perth was involved in the "45 Rebellion" involving "Bonnie Prince Charlie".
Their little museum on the top floor is full of facinating bits of old masonic regalia, books, photos, etc.
The actual Temple is beautiful, well decorated and with a facinating wall mural.
The actaul RA Degree was superb to watch , worked differently to the way we do it in 500, so the trip was well worth while and instructive, so I am looking forward to their next meeting when they plan do do a couple of bits of Ritual I have never seen done on the floor.

Off to the hospital now
