Snow and we have ground to a halt - yet again

Well, as forecast the snow arrived during the night , and as usual we have the normal chaos which follows. Looking out the window, where there is currently about two and a half inches of snow on the garden , the cars are still crawling nose to tail past the door - and it has been like this since 7 a.m. ( now 9.30 a.m.) .
Graham left at 6 a.m. and was diverted because of an accident on the A702 at Hillend so obviously everything is being funnelled through Penicuik and you can bet trhat despite the fact there is no snow in Edinburgh that the queue will stretch from Edinburgh , and all the way south of Penicuik, probably about eight miles.
When the planners allow new developments outside the city there is little thought about the congestion problems when this happens.
I will have to try and did the car out the back lane later when, hopefully it will have thawed a little.
