Heading homewards we dropped Jamie the chef off at the Odeon Cinema, where he was probably going to see Sex and The City, which he denied, however this meant I had to take a different road home through Tollcross and onto Morningside Road.
Yesterday when on the bus I had spotted something on the wall so we stopped for a look and it turned out to be the "Bore Stone" which was sited nearby on the Borough -muir in 1513 and the Royal Standard of Scotland was raised above it whilst an army was mustered to take part in the battle of Flodden 1513.
The stone was later returned to the site in 1852 and built into the wall by Sir John Stuart Forbes of Pitsligo Bart.
The photos are of the stone which is set up on a wall and the plaque below it.
