Well having just watched this 1st semi final of the football I must say that the Germans were more than lucky to win - they did absolutely nothing throughout the game although their 3rd goal was a good one. The Turkish team were very good for a team who were written off by the commentators before the match . I thought that Colin Kazim Richards had a great game so well done.
What puzzles me is why do they have to take these so called experts over to the games and just how much are they being paid to talk a load of rubbish.
Anyway - had a meeting with our UNISON Rep. today to discuss our next meeting with The City of Edinburgh Council staff who are trying to unravel the mess their incompetent managers have got them into - so we wait and see how tomorrow goes.
Tried to get some paint from two different suppliers and considering that we only need about a pint of masonry paint the smallest amount they would sell was five litres.
On to The Mercat Bar where the outstanding plumbing job was successfully completed at the cost of 82p, so my reward was some nice steak and ale pie followed by a selection of ice cream and strawberries, the new menu comes into effect either tomorrow or Friday so I am looking forward to a sirloin steak or king prawns ( or perhaps both in a surf and turf !!)
Jamie was in on his day off so I took the opportunity to get a picture of him out of his normal working "whites", bubbly Agnes also popped in on her way out on a shopping trip to say hello to the twins and Sarah who had just started.
Today I received a nice shiny medal from "The Order of the Secret Monitors" with an invitation to join "The Order of the Scarlet Cord" at a meeting in Aberdeen in September, this is an old order which is being reintroduced after many years in abeyance due to interest throughout the ranks.
Nice wee letter from Liberec from Chandana / Chandrika our Sri Lankan couple who are doing well and keeping better than they were when me met them in Prague recently.
So bed time once again.
