US Open Golf - cliffhanger

Having dozed off last night watching the golf, I discover there is a play off so I have just sat for the last four and a half hours watching an enthralling game between Tiger Woods and Rocko Mediane, which Woods won at the sudden death on the 19th - brilliant. And not being a golfer it says a lot for me to do that.

Anyway , nice day here today , scooted down to Costco and the dreaded "Harry Corry" shop at Straiton with Mrs B. then back and out into the garden to pull weeds in the sun for a couple of hours. Tell a lie, we even popped into the Penideli for a bite of lunch as we were down the street at the Castle warehouse - thats how I come to have the photos of the well in the High Street. It was erected by Alexander Cowan in 1864 on the site of the old well. Cowan was the owner of the local papermill and he had a water supply from Sillerburn Reservoir which supplied the mill piped up into the well for public use. I think that they asked for public donations but only one penny was donated so he paid for it himself.
Just had an nice E mail from a fellow "blogger" in Tayside who has somehow picked up on this site.
Now away to try and find some flights out to Brussels from Edinburgh as we are going to have a weekend away in July in Antwerp with William and Sandra - even had the other Mrs Johnston ( Christine) on the phone today - so it was all go.
