Tuesday - Not a good day so

Went to our meeting with UNISON, and parked outside the Crown Office in Chambers Street, opposite the National Museum of Scotland, but there is yet another story for the writing .

Parking charges are now up to £2 per hour in the centre of the city.

The photo is of Greyfriars Bobby , probably the most photographed dog in Scotland if not the UK, and star of a famous movie about how he stayed with his master who died in the nearby churchyard, just about 100 yards from the statue in George IV Bridge.

Anyway had our meeting , headed home trying to get paint ( traffic warden outside the shop hunted us); wanted a new phone from Comet , who only had the display set and none in stock ; sainsburgh's had a set but they were glued in place so you could not get a feel for them. Got held up in the endless roadworks on the A701 between Straiton and Milton Bridge, which seem to be designed never to finish and are being carried out at the convenience of the builders "Crummoch" with no consideration whatsoever for the commuter.

So, so far it has not been a good day.
