Real Royal Highland Show weather ( Sat 1)

It Never fails !! the Royal Highland Show is just like the cricket, guaranteed to bring on the rain. After three or four reasonable days we end up at the weekend, massive crowds and down comes the rain.
One of the staff was there this morning and came back with a nice picture called the " The Milking Ladies" which she had bought for her father - it was of six cows in a row !!

Anyway talking of hands across the ocean we had a very nice couple in for a drink, Michael and Ann Dyre from Calgary , Canada. They were served by Paddy who was working with Sarah, one of the new staff who is over from a small town called Courtice, in Ontario near to Toronto , so Micheal wanted a different whisky to try so he was given a Bunnahabin, one of the Islay whiskeys, very distinctive with the smell of seaweed ' TCP, but not as strong as Laphroig. They had just arrived and were staying at the Grosvener Hilton.
Once again , back to the rain which has put a damper on the Peebles Beltane Festival, the Lesmahagow Gala day and the Bathgate Gala day, all who received various plugs today on the Real Radio show. Ann's hairdresser was planning on having a BBQ this afternoon and then going off to the Beltane with her friends - big disappointment unless they have a big tent, etc.
