Tuesday Part 2 - bit of history

Bit of a mad rush as I dozed off in the Conservatory, waking up in time to see Bob Malcolm, Radio Forth DJ and personal friend on the Britain's Best Cooks Show, however his crucified duck dish did not go down very well with the judges.
Quick change , collected Sparky Mark, then down to Bonnyrigg for Mr. Mooney, and into town . Our destination was the premises of Lodge No 2 Canongate Killwinning just off the High Street, one of the oldest lodges in Scotland . The meeting was of the Greyfriers OSM No 33 for their annual installation..
The organ was built in London in 1756 by a German chap, Snetzler, then brought by boat to leith, and by horse and cart up to the lodge. The rear wall was removed and the organ brought up a ramp and installed in 1757. The wall was then rebuilt as an alcove and decorated by the mural which looks, along with other art works in the temple, like 3 D.
The organ is wind operated, by hand, so it kept me happy as "chief pumper / wind generator" cranking the bellows so that Robert Hooker could play a tune or two to keep the Brethern happy whilst the installation took place.
There was a good attendance, some far travelled, and several who had been up in Dufftown with me last week. The meeting was followed by a good meal in the Refectory, so it was a late night by the time I dropped off my charges.
So her we are once again , rstless night , but up sharp , with plenty to do ( at home) today including a trip to the Dentist !!!
