A wet breakfast - chilling as they say

Now in the lounge in Glasgow airport waiting for our flight to be called - my holiday has just begun - hopefully.

Last night we headed into town , traffic was a total nightmare and Leith Walk just about at a standstill - once again my friendly tram people are doing their utmost to bring the City to its knees, who needs the credit crunch and inflation when these guys do a fine job on their own,

To the Edinburgh Masonic Club where we met Sandra and Gordon and some of their friends for the show and presentations.
Morris Wilson the Provincial Grand Master presented a cheque for £5000 to the Ravelrigg Branch of the RDA and one for £2500 to the Edinburgh Boys Brigade. Well done, Mrs Johnston, from the RDA was delighted, her husband, Jimmy, was a former Ch. Supt in Edinburgh. Earlier in the evening I had had Bill Johnston of the Rosewell RDA on the phone, he had managed to get three containers for his site to use as shelters for his horses and was off to buy items from his wish list which the RA 500 were paying for.

The show was Beatle Mania, by an excellent tribute band , they did two sessions and during the first set everyone was happy to listen to the music, but later, combined with a few wee "swallaes" the place was jumping.
Add a game of Bingo, a raffle ( with drew in another £860) and good company it was a smashing night, just unfortuante I had to live on soda water having taken the car and being on the road early. One of our company , John is a reader of this exciting epistle - he uses it when he wants to feel miserable !!!! Or so he said.

Going home at 12 mn the City was very busy , plenty "sights" and a few sorry ones to see - but it was home and to bed.

Early rise, and away at 6.40 a.m. - stopped at Hillend for petrol and the garage was absolutly "honking" due to choked drains - everyone was complaining and the staff especially, but we have out lottery tickets for tonights rollover - if we win !!!
Fast run to Glasgow where we ran into a real thunderstorm, so it was a quick dash to shelter at the NCP car park and wait for the bus which was not long.
Collected my tickets, but the bloke on the First Choice check in was so slow it was unreal, we served a table of sixteen on Tuesday faster than he took to check us through - he was too intent on chatting to his friends - I was well warned to shut up and leave him alone.

Queue for security was massive but I had a good chat to a fellow KT from Ayr who was off to Floriday, one minute we were crawling then they must have opened other gates because we were nearly jogging by the time we reached the x-ray, had to take my belt off and asked what would happen if my trousers fell down , but lady thought my six pack ( not Tennants) would keep them up - I wish.

Thereapy now working, or is the Gin taking effect.
Never mind I might get a sleep on the 10 plus hour flight.
So off we go.
